Does my booking page show prices with or without tax?

Whether the prices on your Customer Booking Page include tax or have it added at checkout depends on your store's tax model — the same setting that governs your pricing everywhere, not something separate for online.

  • Inclusive — the price the customer sees already includes tax.
  • Exclusive — the price is shown without tax, and tax is added during checkout.

Where the setting is

Tax model is on Inventory > Price Groups, not in Settings. This catches people out — if you've been hunting through Settings for it, that's why you can't find it.

Which one should I use?

It depends on how you're expected to display prices where you trade. Consumer-facing rental businesses in most of Europe show tax-inclusive prices; if you're not sure what applies to you, check with your accountant.

Things to watch

  • Changing the tax model changes how prices are presented across your whole store, not just online. Review your prices after changing it.
  • Tax applies to the rental price and to taxable extras and fees. Check a test booking end to end after any change, so you can see what the customer sees.

For how the base price, extras, fees, tax and deposits combine from product selection through to payment, see how online booking pricing is calculated.
