"Invalid Lightspeed settings payload" error when saving Lightspeed settings

Created by Emily Campbell, Modified on Fri, 11 Sep at 1:21 PM by Emily Campbell

What this error means

When you save your Lightspeed settings (Settings › Integrations › Lightspeed) and one of the values isn't valid, BRM now tells you so directly — a message starting "Invalid Lightspeed settings payload: …" followed by the specific problem.

This is a recent change. Previously, an invalid Lightspeed settings save could fail with a generic server error that gave no indication of which field was wrong.

Why it happens

One of the saved fields doesn't match what Lightspeed expects — most commonly:

How to fix it

  1. Read the specific detail after "Invalid Lightspeed settings payload:" — it names the problem field.
  2. Double-check that value against your Lightspeed account directly (Account ID/Shop ID come from Lightspeed, not BRM).
  3. Correct it in BRM and save again.

Still stuck?

Contact support with the full error message — the text after "Invalid Lightspeed settings payload:" tells us exactly which field to check.
